Niseko in winter is a world of snow!

It snows virtually every day. As a result, Niseko has established a world-class reputation for snow sports and is particularly well renowned for the exceptional powder snow found on the mountain for most of January and February. The season generally starts in late November and there is still great snow on the top half of the hill in March and April. If you have skied in Europe or North America before, you're in for a different and very pleasurable experience in Niseko.

When you stop for lunch, the food on offer mostly consists of Japanese noodles, tempura, sushi and other healthy Japanese treats. Western food is also available, and after a hard day on the slopes you can look forward to a soak in a Japanese hot spring before dinner. Temperatures on the hill at Niseko range from just below 2° to -25°C.

Niseko also offers a wide range of summer activities, including horse riding, golfing, fishing, paragliding and hiking. It's a 2.5 hour hike to the top of the spectacular conical volcano, Mount Yotei.
